Beautiful Bodies
Beautiful Bodies tells the story of six thirty-something Manhattanites trapped in the gray space between youth and what comes after. After not speaking to each other for the past six months, they finally meet in Jessie’s apartment, one stormy winter night, to celebrate the pregnancy of their friend, Claire. All the women are in a state of turmoil, with boyfriends being sought and dumped, careers soaring and floundering, and biological clocks ticking and tocking. The comedy bonds the performers and the audience by inviting the spectators to join the party in the apartment.
The Most Massive Woman Wins
The four women of The Most Massive Woman Wins wait in a liposuction clinic before surgery. Each tells the audience what brought her there through comedy, tragedy, and jump rope rhymes. Each woman faces the issues that so many women do: concerns about body image, abuse, rape, sexism, mental illness, and depression, all while remaining strong individuals. This production will blend several performing arts, including music, improvisation, and movement, all generated by the cast.
